Shah Rukh Khan And Kajol's Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge Continues With The Matinee Show Tradition At Maratha Mandir As Theatres Reopen In Maharashtra

Due to the lockdown, theatres and multiplexes were shut across the country. After six months or so, the Maharashtra Government has given permission to cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes to reopen. However, the guideline is that they can operate with only 50 percent capacity. It has come across as good news for movie buffs who missed going to the theatres to watch films. Further, another good news especially for Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's fans is that their favourite Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is back in Maratha Mandir.

Manojo Desai, the executive director of Maratha Mandir and G-7 single screens, informed Bombay Times that the tradition of showing Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in the matinee show will continue at Maratha Mandir. He was quoted saying, "The day the cinema halls open in Mumbai, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge will be back in the matinee show. It was always the first show of the day and that tradition will continue." He further shared, "That was the magic of a beautiful story, a fresh on-screen pair, great music, superb performances and fabulous locales. It had such an aspirational value for the audience. People loved it, some even remembered dialogues by heart in just a few weeks of the film’s release."

Now, isn't that great news? It was recently that Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge completed 25 years of its release. On the occasion, SRK had spoken about the chemistry his character Raj shared with Kajol's character Simran. He was quoted saying, "What worked for Raj and Simran on-screen was basically the pure friendship that Kajol and I shared off-screen. It was all so organic that there were moments in front of the camera that we didn’t feel like we were acting at all. We didn’t really plan scenes. We just let them flow, and if we didn’t like something, we could just blurt it out to each other without any formality.” Kajol adds, “I loved the script, from beginning to end. There was no part that I heard that I did not feel completely there, and present, and completely part of the film."
